EFC54 Preview & Predictions

Sun City, South Africa –15 October 2016 and the EFC makes it’s return to Sun City for a 3 title mega fight night. Opening the main card sees the exciting Wessel ‘Wess Express’ Mostert an up and coming heavyweight squares off against Cameroon’s Nico ‘The Lion’ Yamdjie on debut in the EFC and who wants to make a name for himself by in his words “putting Mostert on his back”. Blink and you might miss it, no judges required for this one. We predict KO of the night. Winner: Mostert by KO

Before the title fights get underway, Henry Fadipe the former welterweight champion is BACK, set to face Bruno Mukulu. “I’M COMING TO TAKE WHATS MINE – NO GOD WILL HELP ANY FOOL WHO IS IN THE WAY OF THAT” the message form the Irish Nigerian. DRC’s Bruno ‘The Major’ Mukulu, accepts the challenges and a war it shall be. Fadipe will want to show he is back for good and a victory over The Major will do just that, however this is one tough challenge. We predict it going to the judges. Winner: Henry Fadipe

FFM’s JP Buys, is out for revenge, as he takes on, Durban`s Baldwin Mdlalose the only man to have beaten JP. With his great wrestling base, JP would look to secure take down after take down and look to finish early. With the interim flyweight championship on the line, Mdlalose will know there is too much at stake this time round to not make weight. He has assured all the fans his weight will be on point. Winner: JP Buys by submission

The second title fight of the night will be for the inaugural women`s flyweight championship, when FFM’s Shana ‘Titanium’ Power takes-on hard hitting Amanda ‘Mad Dog’ Lino. Both fighters have shown great striking in previous fights and this one won’t be any different. Mad Dog Lino gets our nod. Winner: Amanda Lino by TKO/Ref Stoppage

The main event of the evening sees former two-time champion Andrew ‘One Gear’ van Zyl step up on late-notice to replace Danie van Heerden after he received a suspension over a social media post in the build up to his fight with Elvis Moyo. In comes van Zyl vs Moyo for the vacant EFC heavyweight championship. A rematch that has all the makings of a great fight. Moyo the hard hitting heavyweight has put in the time on the mat. Van Zyl will be looking for his trade mark ground and pound on his way to the title. No judges required, someone is getting starched. Winner: Andrew van Zyl by TKO/Ref Stoppage
